This one goes out to the Black Door at the back. The one whose name is the same one written on the front, yourself. Found only after a long, strange day of walking inwards. Inside, one meets himself anew, confused in the wiring of man's makeup - tripping over its insides, breaking the quietude.

'Night's Middle' illustrates Bone Awl in all of their modesty. Simplified songs, simplified lyrics. One theme. Simplified, and not over compensated with production techniques, just a reiteration of their firm stance in the mud.

KLAXON is proud to announce the release of 'Visions of a Better Time', Empire of Hate's first vinyl and first official release since their split cassette released last year. The recordings here again illustrate their confident and strong grasp of black metal like all of their other previous material.

Empire of Hate's attention seems dead focused on atmosphere and creating a fluid sound to the instrumentation, but unlike most bands who choose this route, gripping song structure is still intact. They are not a band that flaunts their strength superficially but rather allows it to be felt in the mastery of all the involved elements.

Klaxon is very proud to announce the release of our first CD, ODAL 'On Old Paths'. This release serves to collect the earliest works of the group, showcasing their demo, 'Germansk', their first EP, 'Traitor' (originally on Christhunt), their second EP 'Fimbulwinter' (Originally on Sombre), as well as a track from their 5 way split 10”; all of which have become scarce since their release. The tracks featured here show ODAL in their most RAW state, and in our opinion, most potent – a clear progression to their amazing debut album 'Sturmes Brut'.

In their music, you can tell that ODAL harness an intuitive and confident understanding of black metal as a form. All of the pieces in the right place, every maneuver pulled off with style, and always escalating to the appropriate heights within a song. The tone never strays far from romance into the technical or stygian. The music is, in that sense, very beautiful. From their viewpoint in life, death looks gorgeous and full of excitement and this sensitivity is expressed effectively throughout every riff. They are consistent too, in their atmosphere, and somehow combine feelings of triumph, sadness, and anger together into one beam.

All of this sound is captured in perfect, self-made production. A charming sound full of the glow from an analog home studio: that perfect middle ground of fidelity and warm distortion. This is certainly some of the best black metal Germany has ever produced.

For those unfamiliar, ODAL have been active in the German underground since 1999 (before as ASKE since 1995), and have since released a number of EPs and albums. ODAL's frontman, Taaken, is a restless soul in Germany, partaking in many other black metal projects alongside ODAL. Some of those include Barastir, Erhabenheit, Wolfsschrei, and surely many more. Klaxon has taken the time to stock many related releases of Taaken and ODAL and they can be found in our distribution section.

Note: before 'On Old Paths' was released, a south American bootleg CD (namely ”Warriors of the Night”) existed showcasing the same tracks. Our release serves not only to spread the great music of ODAL, but also to put an end to this cheap and poorly manufactured bootleg by officially reissuing the tracks in perfect quality, mastered from the original source.

Just released and in stock: BONE AWL "All Has Red" cassette. The cassette features 10 old songs and 1 new song recorded in a rehearsal setting. Expect only powerful fidelity with rough edges. The songs span across many previous Bone Awl releases but are presented here in a new light with a more intimate, 'LIVE' sound. The edition sold only through KLAXON comes packaged differently with extra slip-case and 'OBI'-slide over: Bone Awl's most elaborate cassette. The release was produced by Stigmata productions, in the Netherlands, and is available in quantity from them.

Another regression for Bone Awl, expect even more stripped-down thuds of Black Metal, sinking deeper into the depths of tape distortion. Here is their latest release: A 9-song mini album recorded in 2007. This cassette is unlimited and home-dubbed. Copies are available one per customer, and only through KLAXON.

Inspired and prideful black metal, but with the inherent self-destruction natural to this music. "Raw", but beautifully expressive in its realization of melody, this all-live document is an observation of those willing to crush their own ideas alongside those of others, those willing to reduce themselves for their music and strike out thoughtfully, effectively. As "black metal" increasingly becomes a word to avoid, this demo honors the intuitive and balances primal thought with self-realization. This is a being aware of its own cancer, shaping its end with dignity--perhaps a final litmus test for the character of this musical form in its anxious affirmation of life and death.

News Located Further Down/ New Stock to the Right

To actually control information is a ridiculous notion, an unachievable expectation. We can however at least have a voice, and not allow others to speak for us, in speaking about us. Over is the time of silence, trying to stay back, then holding one's breath and diving under, hoping not to drown in the ocean of media: its polluted waters. Beginning is a new age of toil and a level of involvement. Because if we don't act, nothing will change. We are facing up to it, admitting our place, and taking a stance. Now we will voice it, enforcing greater truths and promoting values that mustn't be lost.

Before, there was not an appropriate medium through which to voice ourselves. However, now, because of developments of the label, we can address things on our own terms, and at least control these terms to the best of our ability. We are pleased to say that there is finally a source that we can verify, and others can too. Here at KLAXON you probably should not expect too many words, but merely hear the voice of our actions and the focus we choose.

One thing we must make clear is that KLAXON in no way supports the recent trend of academic black metal. Black metal is a natural occurence of the expression of death and its counterparts. It is a path that you will find by a way of life, and not a place for dilettantes or people who want to force BM into their own context. Black Metal is something done with total devotion, and purity of vision.

It should also be stated that we will not support the thoughtless and redundant tendencies of the black metal underground. The low standards and inability to see meaningless and repetitive concepts should not be tolerated. Using catch phrases and blindly following traditions is utterly pointless.

KLAXON strives for a greater sense of awareness: an attention to detail while always remaining thoughtful. Between the two downsides of the genre, that we mention above, exists a realm where death is real and infinite; illuminating and inspiring! We will always strive for this greater realization of the dark arts.
